Heritage is something we receive but also something we pass on. It is a dynamic blending of the proven treasures from the past with the perceived treasures of the present. What does that mean in a worship service? It means that the music, liturgy and worship forms used in worship blend the best of the past and present into an experience that enables God to engage people on mental, emotional and spiritual levels. Worship in this way is at the same time personal and corporate, and always fresh because it is a present – not a past or future – experience.

Heritage Worship is indeed a biblical concept based on Matthew 13:52 –

Then He said to them, “Therefore every scribe instructed concerning the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings out of his treasure things new and old.”
